A friendly place to find help & encourage one another |
Well, I must admit that for the last few weeks, I’ve been overcommitting on my own Monday Motivation Meme. But we’re still diving in today to get our things done!
Last week was NUTS with the kids on spring break - and I know several of you poor parents out there are NOT in sunny places and stuck at home trying to get stuff done this week as well. My heart goes out to you!
So here’s how Monday Motivation works (and you’ll need this if you need a little kick in the pants to be productive today):
- Throw up a comment on this site or a post on your own site with your To-Do list for today. Everything you say you’re going to do you must do. Or you’ll have to pay…
- …The consequences, leverage, etc. - post what will you HAVE to do if you don’t get your stuff done.
And here we go… for example:
- I commit to clearing out my inbox (I say this *every* Monday and somehow I wish I could stay on top of this better!). This week it’s not so bad at only 112 emails. But I know that most of them require a rather lengthy response, so it will be a lot of work.
- I commit to doing 4 loads of laundry in between it all.
- I commit to getting my super-secret announcement up by 1:00pm CDT today. >:)
And if I don’t get this stuff done, I will (YEUGH!) spend 4 hours doing yardwork tomorrow, unless it rains, in which case I’ll do the same on the very next available day without rain. (Last week I threatened to cut my hair and I committed to too much. I was up until 2:30 am to save my long locks! )
OK, everyone - what are YOU going to do today?
I love these motivational Monday posts! _Getting Things Done_ is such a great system for personal productivity. Thanks for the reminder, Wendy…

Yes, I agree with the first comment. Motivation is definitely important to get me started on my work week.
You provide excellent ideas…thanks for that!
Well I have to:
Install at least 6 more hacks into the new Media Network’s forum I’m building
get papers signed
get the mail
mail the papers
put in the month of marches netlogs into the system
promote tbw
i think thats good for today.
“OK, everyone - what are YOU going to do today?”
Take our bull dog Ruby for a walk, and jam to some EDM!!
O btw, I can’t wait for the next secret announcement!
Great post.
Today I commit to:
- clearing off my desk area
- attending a meeting with my MasterMind group (biz accountability and support crew)
- write the rough draft of my newsletter (and if I finish it, send it out to my list, post it on my blog)
- do 2 loads of laundry
- walk the dog (and bring my daughter her forgotten script that’s sitting on the table)
That’s good enough for today…so, off to start with clearing off my desk (cuz nuthin’ can happen till THAT does!)
@Jason - It is SO good to have you back in the blogosphere!!!
@Sonia - I’ve seen your smiling face on MyBlogLog a few times - welcome, and we’re glad you chimed in!!!
@Amanda - I think you are a new threat to Alex as a contender for that top commenter spot. HUGZ to you!
@Blain - yeah, just rub it in that you get to go play!!! Why don’t you just tell everyone that I lost you’re contest while you’re at?!
@Dylan - I’m a huge Mastermind Group junkie - in fact, Monday Motivation grew out of my MM group experiences (we always made weekly commitments and put leverage in place). I’d love to hear more about your experiences with your group!
Wendy. I’m stealing…er, borrowing your Monday Motivation over at Evolving Times. Hope you don’t mind. After all, imitation is the highest form of flattery, right?
