Etsy as your Craft Business - this week’s fave Etsy shops.

Most of us will already know that Etsy is a wonderful resource for newbies who want to go into craft business for the first time, and many sellers have made a great success of selling through Etsy alone. Etsy shops are easy to set up, attractive, easy to use, they attract lots of customers, and best of all there is heaps of help and support for sellers.

Here is my weekly round-up of my 3 fave Etsy shops. Every week I review 3 Etsy shops from a Craft Business point of view rather than just commenting on yumminess of the products that are sold. This means I will be looking things like:

  • the photography
  • the product descriptions
  • the mix of products
  • and signs of marketing activity such as other websites or blogs

This week’s Etsy Faves…

Print - Cooper No. 2 (one of her best sellers) by Zoe

Seller Name: Zoe Ingram

Etsy Shop Name: Margin

Website/Blog: Website. A to Z

CraftBoom! says: “Zoe’s yummy prints have a very fresh, clean, and modern look all of are are in her own distinctive style (you could show me a print of Zoe’s and I would recognize as hers). This is important because it stands her prints out from other designers and it makes her group of prints into a recognizable range. Her photography is clear and she has placed some of the prints them into frames which really helps customers imagine what the print would look like at home (very clever!) Zoe’s product descriptions are clear, informative, and she makes it clear that the prints will be well protected on their journey to you front door. As for other marketing activity Zoe writes a a lovely (and attractive) blog which is mix of her personal goings on, and what she is doing craft business wise (see this pic of latest cute kitty print!).”

Anemone Leaf Hoop Earrings. by Abigail Percy

Seller Name: Abigail A. Percy

Etsy Shop Name & Type: Abigail A. Percy

Website/Blog: Abigail A Percy

CraftBoom! says: “Abigail’s handcrafted jewelry is beautiful, and so is her photography. The photography very much suits the price range of her items in fact it seems to add value. The product descriptions are also clear and personal (enough to be enticing, and friendly). You get the feeling that her items are crafted with a lot of care (as is the case with so many other Etsy sellers - which is the joy of buying in Etsy!). As for other marketing activity Abigail has a lovely blog which she fills with interesting post on the design/making process, and personal goings on.”

The mariners tale pin - blue by Elegant Musings

Seller Name: Casey

Etsy Shop Name: Elegant Musings shoppe

Website/Blog: Elegant Musings

CraftBoom! says: “This is cute little shop which is full of cute whimsey (shop update will be on 5th Nov). The photography is fun and cute, which suits her little felt creatures, and she keeps it plain for her vintage sewing patterns (which also suits). The product description are informative and personal which again add to the whimsiness of her creatures. Complimentary gift wrapping is also offered which is great customer service. As for other marketing activity, there’s lots, I’m really impressed!”
