Handmade Christmas Gifts

A few years ago a friend of ours shared how his family made each other Christmas gifts. I absolutely loved the idea! Like the Grinch, I thought, “Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store.” Well, at least not all of it. So from then on, one of our family traditions is to make one gift for each other.

Although handmade Christmas gifts take longer than going to the mall, they really add to our spirit of giving. We love the fact that the person who drew our name took the time and made the effort to make something.

Our friend’s family are a little more elaborate with their handmade Christmas gifts than we are. They make each other quilts and furniture. Our gifts are just as cherished though! So far, our handmade Christmas gifts include a puzzle book, a cookbook with all of our family favorites, a trivia book, and dominoes.

So if you’re looking for a new Christmas family tradition, don’t look at the mall, look to each other and make handmade Christmas gifts!
